Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy died and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
