Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
